15K - 2.10 hrs

The first time I ever pushed myself for a more than 1 hour jog... It took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to finish approx 15 Kms. It was a run 40 kms away from the concrete jungles of Bangalore, in Hesarghatta.

The best part was, for the first time, I had company to run. My bro-in-law joined me, and being a first timer, he did very well to run almost 60% of the times with me.

The run ended with a good 'thengai-paal' added mango juice, a good bath, 3 neer dosas and 1 hour driving school lessons for my wife.

The 8K jogs

One of the, or rather the only reason why I like going to my in-laws place is because of the location. The house is more or less like a farm house, just next to acres and acres of mangroves and vineyard of the horticulture institute in Hesargatta. There is a tranquil stretch of 6.3 K 8 foot road that goes around the institute. I am told that there is an American Cow farm too (I have seen it from a distance, while I cannot confirm if it is really one), Fisheries and the road is covered fully by the tree shade. I run peacefully there. Bliss!

The 35K ride

With a strong cold headwind, a dark thunderstorm threatening skyline, riding a 35K on my LA-Sovereign bike from Ulsoor to Hesargatta just makes me say one thing - NIRVANA! It took me more than 2 hours to do the entire ride, fighting my own battles against the wind, climing the tougher flyovers, braving the PITA and the tight resistance of my ill-aligned braking systems.

I am loving this!
